I have recently liquidated all my REITs and made a little profit from my first foray into investment. The recent talk of QE tapering had shaken my confidence in dividend yield stocks as the possibility of interest rate hike in the near future had substantially altered my belief of REIT's risk profile.
Moving forward, I will be on the look out for stocks which are cash rich and low debt.
Guess u sold it a bit early. let's see the tapering will be on in Sept anot. Even if on, i guess the price you brought, shouldnt affect much.

ReplyDeletemy rational was that, i see very limited upside potential in REITs given the imminent interest rate hike be it in 2014 or 2015... at the price i sold, I have gained 2 years worth of dividends.. as long as I buy back withing this 2 years, my potential gain would be higher. of cos, I might be wrong... but is a risk worth taking :)
